Introduction

Graduate Affairs Unit, Faculty of Computers and Information sciences, Mansoura University aims to achieve continuous communication between the faculty and its graduate students and to raise the level and efficiency of its graduate students based on performing a survey for determining the graduate students’ needs and problems in order to solve them. In addition, provides the necessary training programs to improve their abilities and qualify them for labor market.

Unit vision

Graduate Affairs Unit, Faculty of Computing and Information sciences, Mansoura University aims to achieve continuous communication between the faculty and its graduate students and qualify them to work in all specialties. This unit also seeks to improve and develop the Academic programs to keep pace with the constant development of the local, regional, and international labor market.

Unit Mission

Based on the vision of Faculty of Computing and Information, Mansoura University, Graduate Affairs Unit seeks to open communication channels between the Faculty and its graduate students to present the cognitive skill services in order to raise the efficiency of graduate students to develop their skills, and to qualify them for local, regional, and international labor market. Moreover, the unit provides labor opportunities through cooperation between the Faculty and society.

Targeted Stages by Graduate Affairs Unit

The Graduate Affairs Unit of the Faculty of Computers and Information Sciences, Mansoura University aims to follow up graduate students.

Strategic objectives of Graduate Affairs Unit

  •  Preparing and updating the unit’s internal regulation system.
  • Creating and continuously updating a database for graduate students.
  •  Communicating with graduate students via various means of communication, which enhances the relationship between the graduate students and the Faculty.
  •  Activating the Unit’s website to communicate with graduate students via announcing activities, news, and information.
  •  Preparing an annual guide for graduate students.
  •  Developing graduate students’ skills through developing training and qualifying programs that are adequate for the needs of the labor market.
  •  Establishing an annual employment meeting for inviting graduate students and the owners of various organizations and institutions.
  •  Communicating with local, regional and international institutions and bodies in order to include as many as possible graduate students.
  •  Establishing a communication channel between graduate students and the faculty.
  •  Carrying out research, studies and surveys related to the demands of the labor market.
  •  Improving the training capacity of graduate students by presenting courses that contribute to obtaining job opportunities inside and outside the country.
  •  Directing students in the senior years to the opportunities of available jobs in the labor market, which the Graduate Affairs Unit and Postgraduate Unit announce.
  •  Recording and presenting the success stories of distinguished graduate students to be available for other graduate students.
  •  Enhancing the belonging feelings among the graduate students.
  •  Directing graduate students’ awareness toward their significant role in the development of curriculums.
  •  Following up the employment rates among graduate students.
  •  Encouraging joint projects between the Faculty and the authorities concerned with various services.
  •  Exchanging experiences between students, graduate students, and the administration of faculty, to qualify graduate students as representatives for their faculty in the labor market.

Follow-up and communicate Mechanism with graduate students

First: Follow-up Mechanism

  •  Registering a database after announcing the results of the bachelor's degree
  •  Communicating with institutions to inform us about changing the numbers of the telephone and fax related to the various sub-departments in order to enhance the communication among graduate students and to inform them about new training courses or any services provided by the Faculty for them through the Follow-up Unit of graduate students.

Second: Communication Mechanism

- Using related to the graduate affairs unit social media sites, which are prepared and activated by Follow-up Unit for all industrial and commercial institutions, banks and companies, in order to inform all graduates about it.

- Sending a form to communicate with the graduate students including the proposed training courses desired by graduate students, and this form is sent to the Follow-up Unit for graduate students after filling it/upon completion.

- Updating the prepared and activated questionnaire by the unit regarding the academic courses and programs and their relationship to the labor market

- Developing a training plan for the next year based on the demands of graduate students and the available capabilities.

- Publishing the training plan on the unit's social media site to inform all graduates of the courses about the courses, their time schedule, the method of registration, and the lecturers.

  • Preparing a test after each training course to evaluate the performance of the course and assess the extent of benefit to evaluate the response to the training courses.
